He spent years selling his body, having sex with women for money. He could please them better than anyone else.

Now he has only one woman to please.

He knows what to do with her body. He wants her, needs her, takes her--until she can't take any more.

But what they have is so much more than bodies moving together. He loves her, loves her, loves her.

He still doesn't always know how.

Breaking is an erotic novella (21,000 words) that is a follow-up story to Escorted.

Breaking edition by Claire Kent Literature Fiction eBooks

This book is only told in Ander's POV and it doesn't re-tell Escorted in Ander's POV.

I loved Escorted; unfortunately, Breaking fell a little short for me. This novella is more of extended epilogue that gives a glimpse of Lori and Ander after their engagement. I tried to understand Ander's reaction over the tragic event that took place, but I just felt like maybe he overreacted (not quite sure). He says he loves that Lori loves all of him, but the first thing he does is push her away emotional and essentially morphs back into his escort persona. I did like his reaction to Tim (aka Lori's ex-boyfriend), we finally got to see a possessive reaction from Ander that was so rare in Escorted.

I guess in the end I wanted to see them married or with kids, basically showing them living their lives together and happy.

Breaking edition by Claire Kent Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This was a nice Epilogue, if you will, to Ms. Kent's "Escorted". It picks up some time after when Ander and Lori are in an established relationship and it does quiet a good job of showing how Ander's previous employment has left lasting emotional scars, compounded by those from his relationship or lack thereof with his father. I liked that the author acknowledges that good sex is not the cure all to everything that ails us or even the love of a good person. Perhaps this not the type of swoon worthy read or even sexy as erotica although there is sex, rather the sex comes as a sort of absolution or catharsis when the outside world seems to drowning Ander and that is also something I liked. Not that he was in pain but rather that he was allowed to be vulnerable & broken and then be set on the path to be made whole again. Nice.
Not sure what I was expecting as a follow-up to the first book, but this surprised me. Just as well written, primarily from Andres perspective. He was definitely having trouble coping with his new found "freedom" from it being a paid escort. On one hand everything seemed to be going perfectly. He had the girl of his dreams, the real career he enjoyed, but something was just off. It just seemed to take SO long to find out what was wrong. So for the first three quarters of the book you were left wondering any coming up with your own scenarios. All he kept wanting to do was have sex with Lori. Not a bad thing, but I started to wonder if he was longing for his days as a gigilo. However, after reaching the conclusion I understand a bit more just wish it didn't take SO long to get there. Now I find myself wondering if there could be another. How will Andre and Lori deal with what comes next??
After reading and loving ‘Escorted’ where we met this couple, I was very curious about this novella. Because ‘Breaking’ is a ‘new story’ about the couple. And I can tell you that I loved it very much. The story was emotional and sexy. This time we got to read the story from Ander’s POV. That was one of the things that I liked very much of this story. I’m happy that the writer gave us this story about Lori and Ander.
4 Stars - This is a small continued glimpse of Ander and Lori after the book Escorted ends. Ander is struggling hard with something and all of his feelings of unworthiness returns. He loves Lori to death but starts emotionally retreating from her which annoyed me because their relationship should have advanced enough for him to tell her what he's dealing with. I loved that we got see Ander's POV in this but the short story itself was disappointing. I rated this four stars only because the story shows Ander's POV for some of the story in Escorted.
I was expecting more of a happily ever after with marriage, possibly a pregnancy scare but instead it starts off very dark and gloomy. Don't get me wrong Claire Kent is a wonderful writer, she writes sex scences like no other and I love the characters of Lori and Ander, their relationship dynamic is incredible but I thought that this novella would fulfill the curiosity of whether or not a life can be made with a former escort.

I also wished it was longer and that the ending would satisfy and not leave me wanting more.
This story is a sequel to Escorted and is told entirely in Ander's point of view.

Ander knows sex. Sometimes he thinks it's all he knows. But Lori has shown him that she sees through his facade and really loves the man behind the mask. When something happens that shakes him to the core, will he reveal to her the truth of hide his brokenness once again?

I thought this was a great sequel to Escorted! I was really interested to read a story told entirely in Anders point of view and I wasn't disappointed. While there is plenty of sex in the story, it's purpose is to convey what Ander feels -that his worthiness of Lori lies strictly in his ability to please her sexually. But Lori knows him and sees what he's doing, calling him on it and making him realize that to hold on to her, he must be willing to reveal everything, not just the parts of him he is willing to share. It's a fast, sexy read with a wonderful emotional undertone. 5 stars.
This is the followup to Escorted. Escorted was told thru Lori eyes, and Breaking is thru Ander's . Something happens that shakes him to the core. He rushes back to Lori, feeling he needs something to hold on to. He loves her more then he every thought he could, but can he share his inner feelings ? Does she only love him cause he knows sex and how to please her ? Lori now know a lot of how he acts and when he is hiding something. Being a writer she jumps to thinking
he is turning away from her. Will he trust in time ? Will Lori leave ? For a short story it is a wonderful end for Both of
these damaged people.
Best if you read Escorted first....
This book is only told in Ander's POV and it doesn't re-tell Escorted in Ander's POV.
